Peter Agoth, the Principal and Director of the Firm, is a highly accomplished legal professional known for his extensive experience in police prosecution and Commonwealth prosecution. Throughout his remarkable career spanning multiple states and court jurisdictions, Peter has consistently demonstrated his unwavering commitment to upholding justice and ensuring community safety.

Following the completion of his legal education at the Australian National University (ANU), Peter commenced legal his career at the Commonwealth Attorney-General’s Department and spend five years as an in-house lawyer in various Government Departments.

Form 2019, Peter embarked on a career in police prosecution, starting with the South Australian Police (SAPOL). In this role, he honed his skills as a legal advocate, working closely with law enforcement agencies to bring criminals to justice. His expertise in criminal law, coupled with his meticulous attention to detail, enabled him to build strong cases and secure successful convictions.

Driven by a desire to expand his legal expertise, Peter transitioned into Commonwealth prosecution. In 2021, he joined the Office of the Commonwealth Director of Public Prosecutions (CDPP), where he continued to make a profound impact on the criminal justice system. As a Commonwealth prosecutor, Peter played a pivotal role in combating human exploitation and border protection. His responsibilities included enforcing laws related to human trafficking, smuggling, and other forms of exploitation. Peter collaborated closely with law enforcement agencies like the AFP, NSW Police, and Border Force Agencies to investigate cases, gather evidence, and build strong prosecutions. Furthermore, he worked hand in hand with victim advocates and agencies to ensure support for survivors. Additionally, as a federal prosecutor, Peter contributed to strengthening border protection by prosecuting individuals involved in cross-border crimes and illegal immigration, thereby safeguarding national security and upholding the integrity of immigration laws.

Having spent years as a prosecutor in both state and Commonwealth jurisdictions, Peter has recently made a significant transition from prosecution to criminal defence. Motivated by his steadfast dedication to justice, Peter felt compelled to champion the rights of the accused after witnessing the complexities of the legal system and the potential for miscarriages of justice. By embracing criminal defence, he aims to ensure a balanced and impartial legal process, challenging assumptions, exposing flaws in evidence, and advocating for the fundamental principles of fairness. Peter’s goal is to maintain the integrity of the legal system he holds dear.
